You’ve finished your book and had a copyeditor review it. Now it’s time for the final step. Have a fresh pair of eyes check for those last little hiccups that can distract readers and detract from your book.
As proofreader, I’ll ensure you present readers with a professional publication of the highest standards by carefully reading through your manuscript and fixing any punctuation, grammar, spelling, and formatting blips that remain.

COPYEDITING
Why have a copyeditor review your book? This is your story, your characters, your plot. You’ve revised numerous drafts and know it inside and out. Yet it’s because you know it so well that it’s easy for you to miss sentence problems and character or fact inconsistencies including confusing spatial descriptions or choreography within a scene.
As copyeditor, my goal is for your voice and narrative to shine and keep the reader captivated from beginning to end. I’ll go over your story line by line, word by word to let you know where clarity, consistency, POV, or accuracy issues exist. I’ll fix any of those easy to miss spelling, punctuation, and grammar blips too.

LINE EDITING
You’ve nailed your story. Now you want to make sure you keep your reader engaged, turning page after page, unwilling to put your book down. How can line editing help you achieve this? Line editing looks at the flow and clarity of your writing, that engaging, seamless movement from sentence to sentence, paragraph to paragraph, scene to scene.
As line editor, I’ll be on the lookout for issues that undermine your voice, clarity, and flow including repetition and wordiness, unintentional shifts in voice or POV, vague or confusing wording, problematic representation, inauthentic dialogue, and other issues with language as well as formatting.
